…and yet, to judge by today’s letter from Jane Austen to her sister Cassandra, she is upon the whole quite pleased with her recent publication… called Pride and Prejudice!  If only she could have known how “upon the whole quite pleased” generations of admirers would become of this little novel of hers! 😉
