Jane Austen’s letter of 23rd March to niece Fanny Knight is continued/completed on this date – focusing on family — Henry’s state of mind, Mrs F.A.’s pregnancy, and sadly (to those of us with hindsight) her own illness.   I did enjoy her wanting to have Henry send the letter on from London, so she could write (and see) the address as Godmersham, Canterbury – even though it would cost a penny more to go from that direction!
