Jane Austen House Museum – Fundraiser with Bonus Attractions!

As there are no Jane Austen letters available to post from this date, instead I want to let you know (I admit it, promote!) a very worthy cause and one in which you can win any number of fabulous gifts for as little as a $5 donation!

On 28 May, Austen Variations (a group of Austen-based fiction authors) invited  some of their author/artist friends (including me) to join them in a venture as they launched a

FUND RAISING EFFORT for the benefit of CHAWTON HOUSE.

As you know, Chawton House was the home of Jane Austen for the last several years of her life, and the house from which she either wrote or edited those famous and well-loved novels.  Those of us who love Jane Austen’s writing, are inspired from it to write ourselves, or read, or study the social history of the Regency period wish to support Chawton House’s ongoing efforts to maintain and enhance Miss Austen’s beloved home.  (And if you have never been to visit, it is well worth doing so!)

Any size donation is very much appreciated — and a gift from you as little as $5 can reap great rewards — every $5 entry earns a ticket in a raffle drawing for fabulous prizes!  And there are more prizes also (well over 60 at last count) for set gift amounts if you prefer — ranging from Georgian and Regency related items to books and ebooks, even the chance to appear in a cameo in an author’s next book!

The pictures in this post are just some of the wonderful items on offer — and though I’ve only posted book covers above that represent my writing, there are a host of ebooks and signed paperbacks from a group of wonderful authors to be had!)

You can see the entire description (with pictures) of prizes and how it all works here:  Austen Variations

And to donate, click on this link to Just Giving.  All donations go directly to Chawton House.

The fund-raiser — with chances to be entered into the raffles — will continue at least through 10 June, with some possibility of extension.  But if you want to ensure your chance at these lovely prizes, please consider a donation of any size you can today!

We are at 90% of our goal already — won’t you help us put it over the top and then some???

Many thanks to you !!!

And MY thanks to Abigail Reynolds and all the Austen Variations authors for organizing this and letting me join in being a contributor to this wonderful campaign!
